West Hampstead Thameslink station now has two entrances. The Thames Path next to the South Bank entrance at Blackfriars is closed at night and over four weekends until April.

The Thameslink Programme is making serious progress. The first longer 12-carriage trains are now in service calling at a new ticket hall at Farringdon and a new entrance on the South Bank at Blackfriars. Blackfriars Tube station reopens on 26 February 2012 and there is a new station building at West Hampstead Thameslink.

The Thameslink Programme will transform the Thameslink route. New air-conditioned Electrostar carriages have already been added to the train fleet, reducing overcrowding in the rush hour. And in the long term there will be more capacity, more destinations, better stations, and - from the end of 2018 - a train through central London every 2-3 minutes.
