Thameslink Programme - Accessibility

Accessibility

The Thameslink Programme will offer a much more accessible railway. First Capital Connect are committed to improving access to our network and making rail travel easier for people with disabilities, people carrying luggage and people travelling with children.

Ultimately, the Thameslink Programme will offer new trains that will include many accessibility features, such as accessible toilets, audible and visual announcements, fully accessible wheelchair spaces, larger vestibules and priority seating. We are also altering several stations for people that may need step free access so that travelling by train becomes a real option for people that currently find it impossible or difficult to travel with us.

During the Thameslink Programme works, some of our trains may need to be replaced with coaches and we will do what we can to make them accessible. If we can't, we'll make alternative arrangements for you.

For these reasons, it's even more important to give us a call before you make your plans so we can give you the most up-to-date travel information available.
