And here’s the good news:
By 2012 you’ll find Farringdon station to be:
- Modern with a new integrated National Rail ticket hall in Cowcross Street for the Thameslink route
- Easier to access with an additional new entrance and concourse for London Underground services in Turnmill Street
- Fully accessible for those with buggies, heavy luggage or disabilities.
The station will have:
- Longer, covered platforms with more room
- Some 12 carriage trains providing more seats
- Improved access to the Tube
- Provision for Crossrail which, when open in 2018, will effectively give the station direct links to Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton airports with Stanstead and London City Airport an interchange away.
