No cross-London trains most weekends and late evenings
Brace yourself: from 14 December 2008 and through 2009, there will be no cross-London Thameslink route service between London Bridge / Herne Hill and St Pancras International from 10.30pm to 4.30am, Mondays to Fridays, and during most weekends.
The cross-London route will also be suspended some weekends in the run-up to December.
There’s simply no other way for Network Rail to do the essential track and signalling work needed for the Thameslink route upgrade, so please bear with us.
What are my alternative transport options when the central section of the Thameslink route (St Pancras International to London Bridge / Herne Hill) is shut at weekends and late evenings from December 2008?
You can still get into London easily on First Capital Connect trains but to get across the city you’ll need to use the Tube. See alternative travel arrangements.
