Thameslink Programme - Cross London trains

No cross-London trains most weekends and overnight in the week

Brace yourself: there are no cross-London Thameslink route service between London Bridge / Herne Hill and St Pancras International from 10.30pm to 4.30am, Mondays to Fridays, and during most weekends into 2012.

There are also some days at the weekend when some services run no further south than Kentish Town and other services from the north run in and out of the high-level platforms 1-4 at St Pancras International.

Find out when the route IS open at weekends and when the service operates to the high-level platforms 1-4 at St Pancras International.

There’s simply no other way for Network Rail to do the essential track and signalling work needed for the Thameslink route upgrade, so please bear with us.

What are my alternative transport options when the central section of the Thameslink route (St Pancras International to London Bridge / Herne Hill) is shut at weekends and late evenings from December 2008?

You can still get into London easily on First Capital Connect and Southeastern trains (Southeastern services to Blackfriars divert to Victoria after 9.30pm in the week and all day at weekends) but to get across the city you’ll need to use the Tube. See alternative travel arrangements.

Plan ahead for specific dates for any planned weekend closures affecting First Capital Connect services at www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk/changes.

Also check planned works on the Tube network.
