The new 22 March 2009 timetable permanently removes First Capital Connect Thameslink route services to and from Moorgate and Barbican (see 'Why close the branch line to Barbican and Moorgate Thameslink?'). However, this opens up fresh new routes into and out of south-east London and Kent.
For First Capital Connect customers, services will leave Thameslink route stations north of London at the same time as they have done since the December 2008 timetable change. However, those services that previously branched off to Barbican and Moorgate in central London (weekdays, peak hours only), now run south through City Thameslink and Blackfriars to Southeastern destinations such as Sevenoaks, Orpington and Gillingham.
For Southeastern customers there is very little change in train timing. Instead, northbound services that would normally terminate at Blackfriars will continue across London, to City Thameslink and (apart from the 05.26, 06.07 and 06.38 out of Sevenoaks) continue through to Farringdon and St Pancras International (perfect for Eurostar or a quick change for services to Luton Airport). They then continue as far as Kentish Town in most cases but also as far as St Albans and Bedford in many others.
This means services from the FCC network to/from Sevenoaks every 20-30 minutes in the peak and every 30 minutes in the off-peak.

There are occasional peak hour trains starting from [AM]/terminating at [PM] Orpington (2 AM via Herne Hill & 2 AM via Catford/1 PM via Catford), Bromley South (2 AM via Catford/0 PM), Beckenham Junction (1 AM/2 PM all via Herne Hill), and Kent House (1 AM/0 PM via Herne Hill).
Off-peak there are two additional trains per hour on Mondays to Fridays between Sevenoaks and Blackfriars via Catford extended to/from Kentish Town between 1000 and 1600 and between 1930 and 2100.
The three Southeastern peak-hour morning services from Bearsted, Ashford and Rochester will run through to Bedford. In the evening the equivalent services are two from Bedford to Gillingham via Herne Hill and one to Ashford via Maidstone East.
Southeastern trains are diverted to Victoria after 2130 on weekdays and all weekends.
