Service update - Thameslink Programme

Tube works: Please give yourself more time than usual to cross London

07-08-2009

Engineering work on the Jubilee and Northern lines means you need to allow more time than usual to cross London when the Thameslink route is closed this weekend (August 8 and 9) between St Pancras International and London Bridge/Herne Hill.

This will also happen on other weekends - see the end of this document.

This weekend (August 8 & 9):

−      The Jubilee line is closed entirely on Saturday and is suspended between Green Park and Stratford on Sunday.

−      The Northern line platforms at King’s Cross St Pancras will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. The Northern line will otherwise run as normal.

To travel between St Pancras International and London Bridge use the Victoria line to Euston and change on to the Northern line (City branch). Alternatively you can walk from St Pancras International to Euston in about 10 minutes.

Customers for East Croydon, Gatwick and stations to Brighton holding tickets marked with a '†' symbol below the heading 'Route' may choose to take the Victoria line to Victoria station from where your ticket is valid on Southern services. Your ticket is also valid on Gatwick Express trains from Victoria station unless it is marked otherwise on your ticket below the heading ‘Route’.

“All stations” services north of London should note these will terminate at and start from Kentish Town.  From Kentish Town you can travel to and from London Bridge on the Northern line. To travel from Kentish Town to St Pancras International, take the Northern line to Euston and then change onto the Victoria line to King’s Cross St Pancras (or, once again, you can walk it in about 10 minutes).

Please note: FCC trains will be running out of St Pancras International from the ‘high level’ platforms (numbers 1-4) on both days this weekend.

The King’s Cross Northern line platforms will also be closed on the following dates in 2009:

August 22, 23 and 29

September 19 and 20

October 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25

November 28 and 29

December 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 and 28

The Jubilee line is suspended or part suspended on most weekends throughout the rest of the year. For the latest information, see this page of the TfL website.
