City nears completion

Work at City Thameslink is nearing completion as Network Rail prepares to commission the upgrade works ahead of handover to First Capital Connect later this summer.

Customers will begin to see new lighting, summary of departure screens and next train indicators.

The £4.5 million upgrade prepares the station for the increased number of passengers expected during the eight-week closure of Blackfriars station and brings into use the full length of the platforms ready for the first 12-carriage service in December 2011.
