Herne Hill crossings replaced

Replacement fixed diamond crossings have now been installed at the London end of Herne Hill station.

This will greatly improve reliability and track/ride quality across this heavily used junction.

The work was completed by Balfour Beatty using one of their 1200 tonne Kirow cranes. Use of these cranes has been central to the improvement of efficiency in completing this type of work, reducing possession times and making cost savings to the Thameslink Programme.
