Major service changes announced
As the Programme continues there will be changes to many services up to 2018. This includes the services of all three train operators at London Bridge station: First Capital Connect, Southeastern and Southern.
Some services will not call at London Bridge for several days at a time, including working days. This includes changes to services in August 2014 when no Southern services will call at London Bridge, some First Capital Connect services will be retimed and some Southeastern services may be altered.
The major change to services for nine days between 23 and 31 August 2014 allows Network Rail to carry out vital track improvements. Working for consecutive days reduces the need for lots of smaller weekend closures and reduces disruption to you.
This is the first of a number of major service changes which will be needed to complete the Thameslink Programme.
You can talk to us about these service changes and ask us any questions 7am – 7pm at the following stations:
- London Bridge station (opposite platforms 12 – 13) – Monday 2 September – Sunday 8 September
- East Croydon station – Tuesday 17 September – Wednesday 18 September
- Brighton station – Sunday 22 September – Wednesday 25 September
We’ve released more information about the impact of the Programme on services so you can plan your journeys in advance.
We’re working with your train operators and Transport for London to develop alternative travel options. We’ll share this information with you in good time.
