Network Rail is proud to have collected another award for the new London Bridge station in recognition of the huge changes the new station has already, and will continue, to bring to the surrounding area.
The London Construction Awards were a part of London Build Expo 2019 event held at London’s Olympia exhibition centre. The awards were announced during a separate evening event where the station was pronounced the winner in the ‘Regeneration Project’ category.
The award recognised the work that has gone in to providing a world-class passenger station for the 21st century but one that is also designed to work as a destination in its own right and act as a central hub for the local area with new shops, restaurants, bars and multiple transport connections.
As well as the regeneration prize, congratulations must go to Grimshaw, the station’s architect. Grimshaw won the ‘Architectural Design of the Year’ award on the night against stiff competition.
